Tenderness (Delicadeza)
Writer/Director: Eduardo Mattos
Narrative Feature - 90min
Drama
Synopsis:
Taking the brotherly affection of Antonio and Miguel as a starting point, Delicadeza uses melodrama conventions to talk about contemporary social problems, especially the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. The film is divided into two parts. In the first, we are connected to the point of view of Miguel, a lower-class gay teenager, who lives in a troubled family environment in Salvador, a city that does not provide mechanisms for inclusion. In the second, we follow Antonio's journey through the city of São Paulo. Through his contact with several of the city’s inhabitants, Antonio develops a more tolerant and inclusive understanding of the world.
